ISLAMABAD – As published by a news source on the 9th of December, the World Bank has reported Pakistan to be one of the top five countries with the most investment in first half of 2020, a first for the country.
The Private Participation in Infrastructure (PPI) 2020 Half Yearly Report stated, “Pakistan had the fourth-highest investment commitments, a new entrant to the top five countries this year with $1.9 billion of investment commitments, accounting for 0.69 per cent of GDP”. Additionally, the report stated that this statistic was exceptional in reference to the COVID-19 outbreak, since the ongoing pandemic has caused significant closures of various infrastructure developments and other investment projects around the world.
