Sialkot: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Sunday announced that the city’s development projects would be named after the country’s top taxpayers, a news source reported. He further stated that the authorities concerned would prepare a list of the top 10 taxpayers in the city to facilitate this end.

The federal government took the decision as part of the new tax collection campaign under which it aims to boost the tax culture across the country; beginning with Sialkot. The initiative will be conducted with the help of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The two institutions will collaborate and classify the topmost taxpayers on street and village levels.

Usman Dar addressed a press conference at Anwar Club and said that Sialkot city would get its own civic body called the Sialkot Development Authority (SDA), which would transform Sialkot into a planned city. The paperwork has been executed and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar will inaugurate the establishment of the civic body, he added.

Provincial Minister for Special Education Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Ikhlaq also spoke on the occasion and announced that the provincial government had released funds to complete the Shahabpura flyover.
