RAWALPINDI – Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has asked the chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Muhammad Saleem Baig to stop channels from airing advertisements for illegal housing societies.
A spokesman for the civic body informed on Monday about the RDA chairman’s efforts to delegitimize the unregistered housing societies by obstructing their advertisement campaigns as well as requesting the State Bank of Pakistan to block their bank accounts and the Federal Investigation Agency to look into their operations further.
The higher-ups of all three agencies have guaranteed full cooperation towards RDA in their steps to stop the ‘looting spree’ initiated by the illegal housing societies. As such, the RDA chairman has advised interested parties against investing in such endeavors.
