MCI to take responsibility for collecting property taxes within Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – According to a news article from the 27th of December, the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) will begin the process of collecting property taxes from both rural and urban areas situated within Islamabad.
This procedure follows the decision made by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in making the MCI the civic body responsible for collecting property taxes and formulating tax proposals under the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Local Government Act 2015.
